His gold eyes flickered towards the window of the palace as the familiar comforting sound wound its way into his study. He paused to regard the sudden downpour with a seemingly cool gaze as it fell in little waterfalls from the roof, dancing and glittering its way down to nourish the earth. How deceivingly innocent water could be he mused, standing and making his way to the closed balcony as the summer storm fell harder against the glass. Zuko watched as the raindrops slowly traced little rivers down the panes his mind wandering absentmindedly.
Water was such a infuriating element, it could be as gentle as a mother's love, or as deadly and volatile as a dragon's temper. Zuko gently unlatched the window doors and stepped out onto the small ledge. His fiery gold eyes closed in contemplation as the raindrops both stung and soothed his skin, weighing down his robes and running through his shaggy shoulder length hair like a lover's caress.
